Making a difference by actively engaging with our community.
We recognize that we can't boil oceans or make a big splash when trying to improve our community. Partnering with Hands on Greater Phoenix allows us to make a difference starting with ripples when it comes to our social matters such as: immigration, hunger, homelessness, and our youth.
Before reaching Rocky Point, Mexico, we followed the signs for Barb's Dog Rescue and decided to make a stop. Seeing how much love is extended throughout Barb's facility for our people with paws, our team has made a commitment to support her mission. Her mission is to rescue homeless pups in Puerto Penasco, and find loving families who can provide them with a permanent home.
Making a difference starts with feeding our children. Imagine a world without hunger.
Every year, millions of children die from preventable causes such as pneumonia, diarrhea, malaria and under nutrition. Hunger is still causing nearly half of deaths in children under 5 years old. It's estimated at least 6,200 children die each day from causes related to under nutrition. This is heartbreaking.
Imagine a world without hunger. In an effort to be part of the change, we've become part of the movement and volunteer each week in support of FMSC's mission: “We want to reach everyone, until ALL are fed.” This means reaching the hard-to-reach people and places, the “least of these.” They will be found, and they will be fed.
Give a man a fish, and you'll feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you'll feed him for a lifetime. (Lao Tzu)
Addressing the homeless crisis requires a lot more than just money. It requires educating, and training people which will enable them to be self-sufficient; preparing them to transition back to society and off the streets.
Our team supports House of Refuge as they offer 88 2 bedroom housing at low costs for families with at least one minor. On their 20 acre location in Mesa, they provide facilities, food, and clothing in addition to community resources to help with employment, education, and after school programs for their children.
